By having a full time crew of foundation specialist, custom framers, electricians, plumbers and other elite tradesmen Top Dog Construction has formed a team unparalleled in custom residential building. By having all of these people “in house” it allows us to have complete control of cost, budget and time. By taking care of our employees and treating them with respect, we are proud to say we still have our original crew and the overall average tenure of our team is 6.5 yrs. We know that by taking care of our employees, ensuring low turnover through motivated teams, we are doing what is best for our clients. Our employees also have an average of over 17 years of experience in the trade. Our philosophy is to get the job done right, on time and on budget. All of those goals cannot be accomplished without a solid team.

Another way that Top Dog Construction likes to take care of its clients is to be on the forefront of new construction practices, specifically with respect to the environment. Not only is the quality of craftsmanship different in Southern California from the other parts of the country, so are the use of materials that make for more “green” living, particularly in regards to “The Building Envelope”. Southern California has a lot more tempered climate, a solid building envelope drastically reduces energy costs. Top Dog also ensures that the wood they use is certified by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council). They also make it a practice to only use formaldehyde free products as well as no, or low, V.O.C. (volatile organic chemicals) in all of its finished products. Dave and his team are also constantly researching the latest technologies in all phases of construction (i.e. plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems) to make our homes more efficient and healthy for this generation and the next.

Over the past years Top Dog Construction has successfully completed hundreds of projects ranging from the smallest of remodels to custom built homes and commercial projects. In either range of the spectrum, the philosophy is always the same; respect to the clients’ needs, wants, style, budget and time frame.
